72 imagesHauser Hall in Heidelberg Ontario dates back to the late 1800's. This former German Church has been home to many congregations, residents, and even a furniture manufacturer. In 2002 the Hauser Family purchased the building and saved it from the wrecking ball. A major renovation and restoration took place to modernize the premise and secure the structure. Today Hauser Hall is used as a private facility by the family and occasionally is open to guests. Hauser Hall includes a lower reception area that can accommodate 100 persons seated for dining. The dining area is unique in that it can be a continuos “U” shaped table- creating a very social atmosphere. The upper level or “Hall” is a fantastic venue for concerts, dances, ceremonies, and weddings. It can accommodate 100 dinner guests. The Hall is non-denominational. This unique setting in the countryside near St. Jacobs exudes style and class. It is a magical place where the Hauser Family takes pride in providing a perfect full service experience with our team of professionals.

10 imagesThe original grist mill was built in 1816 on Beaver Creek (now known as Laurel Creek) by Abraham Erb, Waterloo's first settler. The grist mill was an important economical and social centre for the region, it helped encourage settlement that eventually grew into the Waterloo we know today. The original grist mill was demolished in 1927, but a replica was built in 1998 on Silver Lake in Waterloo Park. The replica features a timber frame constructed using local materials including 300 year old hand hewn oak, elm, cherry and pine beams as well as a 12 foot water wheel. The Abraham Erb's Grist Mill is available through the City of Waterloo, for small wedding ceremonies with a rustic feel, for up to 75 guests. The rental fee is $75 + tax for a 1.5 hour time slot.
